BaroShield Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Picklestudio for the use of the BaroShield app. By installing or using the app you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.
What BaroShield is
BaroShield reads the barometer in your phone, watches how quickly air pressure changes, and warns you when it drops at a rate that may precede a migraine. It also keeps a diary of your attacks so the warning level can be tuned to your own pattern.
BaroShield is an aid, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and it provides no guarantee of prediction or prevention. Do not rely on it for medical decisions, and never delay seeking medical advice because of something the app did or did not show. Always speak to a doctor about your migraine.
Your licence
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own private use. You may not copy, sell, rent, sublicense, reverse engineer or redistribute the app, except where the law does not allow us to restrict that.
Subscriptions and purchases
- The free tier. The pain log and the pressure alerts are free to use and do not require a purchase.
- BaroShield Premium. Premium unlocks the head map, Insights, the pressure chart and the learning engine. The price for your country is shown in the app and in the store before you confirm, and it is charged to your App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
- Free trial. If a free trial is offered, the paid period starts when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Any unused part of a trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- Renewal. A subscription renews automatically for the same period unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before that period ends.
- Cancelling. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not refund the current period, and we cannot cancel or refund on your behalf.
- Restoring. If you reinstall the app, use "Restore Purchases" to recover an active subscription.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.
Apple App Store
Where you obtained the app from the Apple App Store, Apple's standard End User Licence Agreement also applies to the app, and Apple is a third party beneficiary of these terms. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
Your data and your responsibility
Your diary, pressure record and settings are stored on your own device. We cannot recover them for you, so please keep your own backup if the record matters to you, using the export feature in the app. See the Privacy Policy for what the app does with data.
No warranty
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy. Air pressure readings depend on your device's sensor, on the operating system's willingness to run background work, and on where you are. Sensor readings can be wrong, delayed or missing.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Picklestudio is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Changes
We may update these terms for a future version of the app. The current version is always on this page with the date at the top. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Norway, and disputes are subject to the Norwegian courts, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
